The Lions of Judea Motorcycle Association (LOJMA) is a “not for profit” organization created to provide the “Global Jewish Community” with an organization that recognizes and embraces its “Jewishness”, through open Torah observance of faith based practices and traditions on a pluralistic scale where every Jew from every walk of life is respected and is welcome. Our mission is to inspire others through Jewish education, the performance of good deeds, charitable events and sharing the “Jewish Experience,” (religious, traditional and cultural), in synergy with our passion to ride motorcycles. We are an organization of Rabbis and Jews from every level of denomination or religious observance. We operate on the kind sponsorship and or donations of our club members, supporters and sponsors. We have chosen to cast off our denominational “labels” so that we can transverse religious barriers, united not just in our passion for motorcycling, but are also linked together through social, cultural and “faith based” practices and traditions that transcend religious differences in our faith and cross over to invite every Jew regardless of their religious level of observance., Rather than limiting our approach to catering only to “a majority “ Our philosophy renders inclusively that , “Every Jew Counts” and we will endeavor to seek the path of serving the faith based needs of everyone in a warm, friendly and comfortable environment for all club based learning and motorcycle riding activities to insure the inclusion of every member. We believe that this interaction of values and learning will insure the most meaningful experience for our members on both the social and religious levels. As a motorcycle club we honor our religious leaders and our Torah Laws and do not sanction or advertise motorcycle riding as a group on the Sabbath or observant Festivals where motorcycle riding is forbidden. Each of our club-wide events will be in a kosher venue and every member will enjoy a great ride and a good meal and have a meaningful, memorable and fun experience. We recognize that we are “Jews first” who happen to share the passion for motorcycles and the open road. Our mission centers on outreach, fund raising for both Jewish and Non Jewish individuals and organizations in need, Jewish education, Jewish Learning, Jewish Unity, and other activities that are “Faith Based”, while enjoying the company of other Jews who ride motorcycles. With these guiding permanent and unchangeable principles in place, we know we will be a truly meaningful source of empowerment, education, inspiration, spiritual strength and support to the Jewish motorcycle community, to our local and international community, and to every Jew everywhere, from every walk of life. |
